Lindsay represented WIFP at the Fem 2.0 Conference in Washington, February 2, 20009. Lindsay was a contributing editor for the online Directory of Women's Media and put together the Spring issue of our quarterly Media Democracy Online.
Lindsay is a sophomore journalism and philosophy major at the University of Maryland, where she is a member of the Jimenez-Porter Writers' House for cross-cultural creative writing. She is involved with the campus literary magazine Stylus, edits for Unwind, a campus entertainment magazine, and is a chair member of Phi Sigma Pi, national co-ed honors fraternity.
Above all else, Lindsay enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures. She hopes to study abroad next year to further heighten her awareness of women's rights in other nations. After college, Lindsay would love to participate in Teach for America, and then get a job that involves travel and writing.

Abigail Paulson is a journalism and politics double major at Ithaca College. She is a staff writer for the campus newspaper The Ithacan and an active member of the campus radio news staff. As a D.C. area native, she has learned to easily balance her roles as a political junkie and a sports fan.

Becca Tanen is a sophomore majoring in English Writing with a concentration in non-fiction at the University of Pittsburgh. She serves on the student boards of both the Hillel Jewish University Center and Chabad House. An art history fanatic, Becca volunteered as a teacher’s assistant for the Children’s Studio art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art this past semester. Becca is very passionate about singing, and hopes to join or create an a cappella choir next semester. Her greatest interest, however, is editing, which she has gotten the opportunity to practice as an Associate Editor for a blog called the Jew and the Carrot. Becca’s ultimate goal is to become an editor at a newspaper or publishing house.

Liza Aberbach is a rising junior at Smith College where she is a Sociology major and Studio Art minor. She is interested in feminism, social justice, journalism, how the media influences our lives, and how social stratification can determine much of one's life. She likes working on layout and design as well as anything creative. She works for her school paper, The Sophian, and enjoys being involved in a range of activities from crew and student government to tutoring.

Christen Brandt is a junior in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She is double majoring in magazine journalism and English, with a minor in political science. On campus, she is currently editor in chief of 360 Degrees magazine and an executive editor at The Student Voice. She is also the managing editor of The Myeloma Beacon, a Web site for patients, caregivers, and health workers dealing with multiple myeloma. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, camping, and following politics.

Ariel Perry will be a junior at Wheaton College in Massachusetts, and is an English major with a Women’s Studies minor. She enjoys reading all sorts of novels, particularly of the fantasy genre, as well as running around outside and eating chocolate. Ariel is interested in writing about issues involving societal control and media impact on our everyday lives. Having been born and raised in a miniscule town in Southern Maine, Ariel loves to explore everything else the world has to offer and hopes to travel and live in many different cities and experience as many new cultures as possible.

Bri Riggio will be a senior next year at Claremont McKenna College where she will complete a major in history and then figure out what one exactly does with such a degree. At school, she writes for multiple campus publications and works at the Kravis Leadership Institute. She endeavors to break into journalism, probably covering international issues for a new media outlet, and hopes to acquire a Fulbright scholarship, which will send her back to Greece – her beloved study abroad destination – following graduation.

Laura Gil is a professional journalist with six years of experiene in different professional settings, including the media industry, non-profits and PR firms. She worked for the last three years at the Health Department of Inforpress Group, a Spanish leading PR firm. She is interested in media democracy and hopes to broaden her perspective into international communications during her time living in Washington DC.

Delma M. Webb is a senior attending Trinity Washington University and is majoring in Communication. She plans to earn a Masters Degree in Communication after completion of the fall semester. Delma's future plans include writing, directing, producing documentaries about women living in female communities in America and Paris, France that are artists in the performing arts, painters, writers, and storytellers in the fine arts genres.
